Cujo protect your internet of things

Interview with Einaras Gravrock from CUJO Smart Security Device

CUJO Smart Security Device for your Internet of Things

cujo_logo“CUJO is a smart device that brings business level Internet security to guard all of your connected home devices from hacks. It’s simple to start with no installation necessary. CUJO blocks malware, viruses, phishing attempts, and hacks. You get an app that alerts you anytime your devices are in danger. Best of all, you can get it for only $49 when you back the Indiegogo campaign.

We have all read stories about Ashley Madison and SONY hacks. We may think that only corporations are affected by cyber crime. Chances are, you’ve probably been hacked yourself in the past. In fact, almost 50% of Americans were hacked in 2014, CNN reported.

The days of protecting your home with just an alarm system or Antivirus are over. If you have a TV, a smartphone, or even a baby monitor at home, then you are an easy target for cyber criminals. It takes 20 minutes before criminals attempt to hack your newly connected devices. More often than not, they succeed.”

Tell us a bit about yourself. Who are you and what do you do?
Einaras Gravrock is the founder and CEO of CUJO. Under his leadership, technology companies have achieved exponential revenue growth. His expertise in consumer tech, business development, global e-commerce and the use of disruptive technologies has earned him a place as one of Goldman Sachs’ “100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs.”

Validate your product demand even before you launch.

What does a typical day in your life look like?
I am blessed to have the support of my family to spend 12+ hours a day at the office working on CUJO. I get to interact a lot with our users, talk to the dev team, and partners.

How did you come up with the idea for your product and what made you “go for it”
As a parent myself, I was nervous about my kids’ security when online. I was unable to find any solutions that offered complete protection for all home devices. Soon after, Yuri Frayman approached me with the idea of building a device that would protect all of the Internet of Things in your home.

What made you decide to go with crowdfunding (or venture capital)?
Crowdfunding platforms such as Indiegogo provide excellent opportunities to validate your product demand and also to influence its feature development at an early stage.
What is the best decision you’ve ever made with your product (financial, emotional, educational) that led to the product we’re experiencing today?
We created a strong following among our early adopters. They have helped us in deciding what features to build and much more.

Where do you see your company or your company’s focus in 1-2 years?
We are inspired to be working on a security device that will allow you to experience a connected life at home without compromise. That’s our mission and we will keep at it for many years to come.
If you could time travel back to day one of your startup and have 15min with your former self to communicate any lessons you’ve acquired with the intention of saving yourself mistakes and heartache, what would you tell yourself?
Be even more relentless. The world needs a solution like CUJO so we have to make sure that we ship those devices ASAP.

Be even more relentless.

Any tips for aspiring entrepreneurs on how to facilitate a successful financing campaign?
Start very early. We spent 5 months working on our Indiegogo campaign. Validate your product demand even before you launch. We did that by creating a group of power-users who participated in the feature development process. We knew there was going to be a demand before we launched our campaign.
What do you see as the biggest advancement in your technology sector over the next 5-10 years?
Given the amount of data analysis needed to intercept security threats, much of that analysis, intelligence, and decision making will become automated.

Thank you for your time Einaras!
