Pacsafe Anti-theft Bagpack Review
WHO IS PACSAFE?
Pacsafe was created by Outpac Designs Limited, ran by two Australian travellers who after years of backpacking, found a real need for safer and more secure luggage. After visits to over 80 countries and conversations with other travellers, they got to work on their eXomesh anti-theft technology. This was the brains behind the award-winning Pacsafe bag, which we at Appcessories have had the pleasure of trying out.
Like anyone who travels, you do have that worry in the back of your mind that you could have your things stolen. It doesn’t happen to everyone, but unfortunately the harsh truth is, that it is a big risk. Some natives will see travellers coming and take it as an opportunity. Pacsafe products are designed to prevent,
- Strap slashers
- Gear thieves
- Bag slashers
- Bag snatchers
- Identify thieves
Pacsafe want to take care of your worries and give you peace of mind while travelling. Their products are tried and tested against thieves and ‘stand up to the rigors of travel’. Not only this, but they are stylish products that you won’t mind wearing. You will be able to enjoy your experience even more when you have a Pascsafe product with you.
While I love the concept behind Pacsafe, I think the anti-theft technology gives you real peace of mind and faith in the products. There is a number of specific anti-theft devices which make Pacsafe bags such an innovative product.
There are 12 different security features that comprise the products:
360 degree eXomesh locking system: Patented, flexible, stainless steel wire mesh comes in two forms. Either thrown externally over backpacks and bags, or laminated between fabric to form stealth-like portable safe. Both can be locked closed to form a 360 slash resistant protective cell which looks to a secure fixture.
These are used to stop bag slashers from slashing the outside of the bag, allowing your valuables to fall out into their hands. Pacsasfe bags contain lightweight slashguards which are concealed to help prevent instances like these.
Carrysafe slashguard strap
Flexible, lightweight, stainless steel wire is integrated into the adjustable straps which make it invisible to the eye, however extremely effective at preventing bag slashers from running off with your valuables.
RFIDsafe blocking pockets & material
As most passports and credit cards contain an RFID micro chip, which contains all of your personal, sensitive information which identity thieves can access from up to 10 ft away with an RFID reader. The award-winning RFIDsafe blocking material helps to prevent data from falling into the wrong hands by blocking out virtually all transmissions between 10 MHz – 3 GHz, which covers the radio frequency in most e-passports and credit cards.
Other anti-technology features include:
- Puncture resistant Toughzip
- Slashguard anchor straps
- Roobar locking system
- Interlocking zip pullers
- Stainless steel locking cable
- Smart zipper security
- Turn & lock security hooks
- Dual release security buckles
You can read more in-depth about these features on the Pacsafe website.
TRAVEL WORRY FREE
Pacsafe is focused on eliminating those worries that every one has when exploring a new place. Being robbed is obviously not the worst thing that could happen to you whilst on your travels, but it could definitely put a bit of a dampner on things.
At the heart of every Pacsafe® product is one clear purpose – to keep travellers one step ahead of the game by keeping their gear secure from opportunistic thieves
It’s something that everyone worries about and tries to avoid. It can be a real distraction to your experience. If your belongings are secured by a Pacsafe product, you are free to concentrate on the more important things, like having fun!
Not only are they a practical travel essential, but they are a stylish asset to your every day life. Many items with anti-theft technology, you would imagine to be quite bulky and heavy to carry around, even without anything inside. Pacsafe products are made with lightweight anti-theft materials which makes them even more attractive in comparison to a normal backpack.
Can you really put a price on your most prized possessions? Turns out you can and it comes in at around $100. Thats not too bad, is it? That is just the average price of the cheaper items in the Pacsafe range. If it’s a backpack you’re looking for, you can expect to pay anywhere between $70-$200. If you’re looking for more of a suitcase/travel bag, you are looking at more the $200-$400 price bracket.
You might think this is a bit too much money, but imagine you get your bag stolen which contains an iPhone or a Laptop. That’s probably almost twice the price of a Pacsafe product. Totally justifiable in my eyes.
WATCH THIS SPACE
I am so thrilled to be offered a range of Pacsafe products to take with me on my travels along the East Coast of Australia in October 2016. I will be trying out a variety of different products from the larger travel rucksacks to smaller items like the travel organiser and wallet. I am going to be blogging about my experience which will include my honest opinions about the products in order to help others see the benefits of having Pacsafe products with you on your travels.
With travel becoming so popular, especially here in the UK, I think this will help to spread awareness that thieves are out there and relentless than ever. I am hoping that people will consider some form of anti-theft products. By trying out just one of Pacsafe’s bags, I already know that the material is of good quality and stylish design. Anti-theft luggage and bags are something that anyone who is going travelling should consider.
Keep your eyes peeled for my blog later in the year on Appcessories and Pacsafe .
