Garmin Fenix Chronos: Everything We Know So Far
THE FITNESS TRACKER YOU’LL WANT TO SHOW OFF
Garmin have just released their newest addition to their growing wearable family. The Fenix Chronos is a stylishly elegant time piece which has all the functionalities of the original fitness wearables, but with an added bit of class.
Garmin Fenix Chronos price when reviewed: $1,499.99
IS IT TOO MUCH COST WISE?
Not to be a negative nelly but, one of the first things we did notice was the price tag. At $1,500 it is one of the priciest smartwatches on the market. However, negativity aside, it is made of a flawless titanium design, unique of any other smartwatch I can think of.
WHO IS IT FOR?
I haven’t yet had the pleasure of trying this gorgeous smart technology, but to give you a little more insight, for the outdoorsy people you have a barometer, an altimeter and compass which includes functions which enable to to return to your starting position if you are lost, smart eh? By connecting the watch to your smartphone, you can receive weather notifications and data.
For the more fitness conscious of users, you have a built in heart-rate monitor, step counter, sleep monitor and calories burned based on heart-rate. The more advanced fitness metrics include, running speed, heart beats per minute, recovery advisor and VO2 readings which is ‘the degree of ‘bounce’ in your running motion and the benefit ratio to stride length’.
Other functionalities provided are, smart notifications which allow you to receive emails, texts and alerts straight to your wrist. The Garmin Fenix Chronos will pick up the signal from your smartphone and allow you to view your urgent messages and alerts at your own viewing pleasure. Additionally, you can upload progress for free to the online Garmin Connect fitness community. You can also live track and share on social media through Garmin Connect.
THE VERDICT SO FAR
Garmin Fenix Chronos delivers everything you’d want from a standard fitness tracker and more. It’s stylish design means you can wear it whether your in the office, training at the gym or on a big night out. We can’t wait to see some more from Garmin and how this new piece develops amongst consumers. Hopefully we get the chance to try it out too!
