Figment VR – The Virtual Reality iPhone Case
Figment Virtual Reality iPhone case is not in any way here to solve your budget issues, because Google Cardboard already did that, but to make your virtual reality craze real from a portability angle.
The Figment is an iPhone case with built-in goggles that can be transformed into a virtual reality viewer with the flick of a button. The prototype looks extremely cool, and the current design can fit iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
Perhaps what will sell this design is its open architecture, the opposite of Cardboard, and the pop-open mechanism, the practical inertial transformation, which basically makes it so small and pocket-size.
Mr Zi Wang, the man behind the Figment VR (founder of Quantum Bakery too) said during an interview that his main aim was to come up with the tinniest of cases, and one that could meet Apple’s aesthetic level. “When designing a smartphone case, it ought to be pocketable. It has to offer minimal protection and should not destroy the general aesthetic of the phone” he says.
The project debuted on Kickstarter in November 17, and the consumer version is expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2016.
